Sectional Update

Hihi,

Concert is over, thx everyone for the concert..Between this week there will not be sectional, as Mr.Lee didn't reply to have sectional..Think we should have some rest oso after the concert..haha..Btw sectional will stop from next week onwards until after the exam, to be announce..All the best in the coming final exam, anc C ya!!

Concert Helpers Recruitment

For those non-performing members, anyone will be free, and would like to help out in the concert? e.g help to move instruments and be stage crew? or if cannot come on concert day just help to move instrument during bump in? This will be purely voluntary basis as we are unable to give extra CCA points on helping out. However, meals will be provided for helpers. We need you to make the concert a success one..Please contact me if you would like to help out for this concert. p/s concert day 22March 2008 .

15 March (Saturday): 2.30 - 6.30pm, CFA Auditorium

18 March (Tuesday): 7 - 10pm, CFA Auditorium

*20 March (Thursday): 7 - 10pm, CFA Auditorium

*21 March (Friday): Report at 12.30pm, UCC [Rehearsal] - No lunch is provided

22 March (Saturday): Report at 12.30pm, UCC [Concert Day] - No lunch is provided

Sectional update (28 Feb 2008)

Hi,

There will be sectional at this thurs (28 Feb), at PR3. As usual, 6-7pm for non performer while 7-9pm for performers. Since there was a technical problem last week, the guest players will join us from 7-9pm for this particular sectional. Sorry for the members who came on 6pm last week, and the guest players who came last week and have to come again since Mr.Lee went back.

Concert Reminder : Less than one month to concert day, plz come for combine practices if you don't have special events during the practice time.

Besides I've some notes here:
1. It is ok that you cannot come for certain practice, it can be understand that we have many other events out there and there will just simply clash with out practices. It is also ok if that particular practice is important (e.g. Mr.Lee wanna meet performers), but you got some reason you cannot come. The thing you have to do, just send me an sms n let me noe, particularly those important events that I've sms to notify, n I can just explain to whoever need to noe the reasons. Thank you very much for those considerate and responsible members who replied when they cannot make it. Hope that those who didn't do so can do me this favour in the future.

2. Since I've tutorial on 6pm-7pm every thurs, I wouldn't be able to handle any problems pop up during the period. In case of any problem, please let me noe b4 6pm (if is possible), if something really happens during 6pm-7pm when there's sectional, please seek assistant from the exco,

For keys and Instrument matters ----> property manager Zhiqun and Bing Yang,

If they are not reacheable or something else happens---->seek for president Kaixian, or vice president Geraldine for help as last resort.

Appologies for technical error on 21Feb2008 sectional

Hi,

I'm very sorry for those who came on 6pm, and wait until 7pm on 21st Feb2008 sectional, while the door is still not open. The problem couldn't be solved on time as I was having tutorial on 6-7pm every Thursday ( I didn't choose this particular timing, but the class i registered was cancelled, so was forced to take another class), and today I was having a quiz. Sorry for not ensuring the door is open, and not able to solve the problem on time.

Cause of today's problem : 1.Property manager opened the doors at 4pm, as he also has exam around 6pm. However somebody else from the other group locked the door, assuming nobody using the rooms. 2. I didn't has the key,as only the property manager can draw the key,moreover I was having tutorial.

Effect: Those who came on 6pm left, including Mr.Lee, and some guest players came on 7pm, but Mr.Lee has left, so they have to come for one more sectionals.

Conclusion: Disastrous

Solution: 1. I'll feedback to the commitee member, and hope that today's case will not happen anymore.
2. I'll try to check whether the room is open b4 6pm in future practices.

Updates for week 5 (11 Feb - 15 Feb)

Hi,



Just a slight change on the 14th Feb practice. Mr.Lee said will cancel the 14th Feb's practice since is valentines day, anyway the room will be open n instrument will be available, those who has no date, hmm , may come down for self practice. For the combine practice on 16Feb, the female tailor will be coming down, male tailor still pending, not sure. Those who haven take measurement for ur uniform plz come on this sat's practice..



Next is that on 21Feb's sectional, our guest players will join us for the sectional, Mr.Lee will be coming down, and hope that every performer can make it for this particular sectional. 6-7pm for new players , while 7-9pm for performers.

Happy Chinese New Year!!! Good news here, haha, no sectional practice on 7Feb2008(Thurs) and no combine practice on 9Feb 2008(Sat), sectional resume on 14 Feb ( Valentines day), haha, those who are not attached must come ya!!!

Sectiona Update for (31 Jan, Thursday)

There will be cello bass sectional tomorow, 6pm for non-performers, and after 7pm is for performers. Mr.Lee coming.

p/s : I'll be late a bit as got a tutorial pop up at 6-7 thursday, as the original class is cancelled, so will only be able to come for sectional at 7.15pm like tat.sorry for tat..

Qin Li-Wei, Head of Cello Studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, Silver Medallist at the Tchaikovsky International Competition and winner of the Naumburg Competition, performs the first major cello works by Bach, Beethoven and Britten. Also on the programme, Bolling’s Suite for Cello and Jazz Piano Trio, performed with pianist Albert Tiu, bassist Tony Makarome and percussionist Jonathan Fox.

* Only for those involved in Zheng Performance. On 5 january, those not involved in Zheng Performance can leave after Orchestra practice

# These are the proposed dates that Professor Koh will be coming for practices with us, we will confirm closer to the dates if he will indeed be practising with us. Even if he cannot make it for practice on the days, practices will still be held.

Sectional Update for (17Jan2008, Thursday)

HiHi,

Happy school start!!Haha, school start means sectional resume, so this Thursday (17 Jan 2008) we'll be having a sectional, starts on 6pm. Mr.Lee will not be able to come for this sectional practice, so we'll have a self-practice sectional on this Thursday. For performers who missed the music camp on last December plz come down to update ur scores, 90% of the fingerings n expressions are marked, so do update ur scores.

Another thing is that this sem no cellos will be loan out to members, as the concert is coming, the number of performers > no. of cellos we have, to ensure that we have enough cellos during Sat combine practices. So u'll hav to go to CFA to practice if u dun have cello (p.s. , on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, the timing mentinoned in the earlier post.

Besides for performers plz come down for combine practises, as concert is coming soon (22nd Mar).

Lastly, who still not in NUSCO yahoo group, plz let me noe so that u'll be updated bout NUSCO activities..
